Corpus-based Studies of Metaphor: An Overview

The researchers performed this systematic review to offer insights into the trend of corpus-based approach in studying metaphor recent years and investigate potential gaps under-researched areas past literature on topic. Two research databases, namely Google Scholar Academics, were explored collect data. analysis metaphor-related studies published between 2015 2020 revealed more than 78 dealing with topic investigation. After screening process, 23 that met criteria retained for analysis. selected articles further analyzed using two-step involving quantitative qualitative approaches, i.e., descriptive statistics, thematic findings employing corpus tend use existing like Reference Corpus instead a specialized corpus.
